About Us

Our Story

Seven years of working alongside schools, teachers, and communities across Maharashtra.

VVK Education Foundation was established with a simple but powerful belief: every child, regardless of where they are born or how much their family earns, deserves access to excellent education. Founded by Vijay Roy, who brought with him the experience and passion developed during his time with Teach For India, the foundation began its journey in Maharashtra working with some of the most backward and underserved communities in the state.

Over the past 7 years, VVK Education Foundation has grown from a grassroots initiative into a structured nonprofit organisation with partnerships spanning global institutions. We have reached more than 200 schools, impacted over 10,000 students, and trained more than 1,000 teachers. Our work is guided by data, driven by compassion, and sustained by a commitment to systemic change in education.

Our Vision

A world where every child in India has access to quality education that nurtures potential, ignites curiosity, and prepares them to thrive in a changing world.

Our Mission

To improve learning outcomes in underserved schools across Maharashtra by strengthening teacher capacity, improving school environments, and bringing internationally proven education practices into Indian classrooms.

How We Work

Our Approach — 3 Pillars

01

School-Based Interventions

We work directly inside schools with teachers, principals, and school management committees to understand root challenges and co-create solutions. Our interventions are contextual, practical, and measurable.

02

Teacher Training & Development

We believe the teacher is the single most important factor in a child's learning journey. Our training programs, developed with ACER and Gray Matters India, equip teachers with modern pedagogy, classroom management skills, and a deeper understanding of how children learn.

03

Community Engagement

Education does not happen only within school walls. We actively engage parents, community leaders, and local organisations to build a culture of learning that extends into the home and neighbourhood.
